There were 12 precious stones on the Hoshen, as mentioned in Book of Exodus (28:15-30), representing the twelve tribes of Israel: Aquamarine, Citrine, Garnet, Ruby, Onyx, Sapphire, Orange Topaz, Smoke Topaz, Amethyst, moon stone, Emerald& Diamond.
Today, the elegant design of the Hoshen makes a beautiful decorative motif throughout Jewish art and jewelry.
