Written for children in rhyme, this book tells the story of the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River at the site called Qasr al Yahud. The illustrations are beautiful and perfectly enhances the story for children's better understanding. Wonderful reading for home or in Sunday/Sabbath School.
Note to parents and teachers: The Bible story portion of this book is based on Mark 1:1-11. It is helpful to read this Scripture passage to your children along with this book, especially if you have older children in your family or class.
Another important teaching to use in conjunction with this books is the Lord Jesus, being baptized by John, fulfilled Old Testament prophecy and declared himself to be the promised Messiah: A voice of one calling, In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Isaiah 40:3 (NIV) At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan: Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove: And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
