Handcrafted Olive Wood Crosses from the Holy Land
For thousands of years, the olive tree has grown across the hills of the Galilee, quietly becoming one of the most enduring symbols of faith, peace, and resilience. It's from this same wood — shaped by time and sunlight — that each cross in this collection is carved.
Our craftsmen work only with olive wood sourced from trees rooted in the Holy Land, some of which have stood for generations before ever being touched by a chisel. Once harvested, the wood rests through a slow, natural drying process lasting up to five years. This patience is what gives the finished piece its strength and long-term durability.
Because the wood comes from living trees shaped by nature, not machines, every cross carries its own individual pattern. The swirls and lines in the grain aren't imperfections — they're a quiet record of the tree's years growing in the Galilean soil, making each piece genuinely one of a kind.
More than a decorative object, an olive wood cross is a tangible piece of the Holy Land itself — a way to keep that connection close, whether displayed in your home or carried with you.
Made by Hand, Rooted in Family History
This collection is produced at the Halamit workshop in the Galilee, a family-run studio with more than five decades of craftsmanship behind it. It was founded by Bella and Berl, Holocaust survivors who turned skill and perseverance into a lasting trade. Berl, trained in metal casting in Romania, brought technical expertise that would later shape the workshop's reputation for quality. Today, the tradition continues under Sarah and Lilach, who carry the family's legacy forward with the same dedication to craftsmanship in every piece.
