Description

Narde : Auch Narde, Nardin und Moschuswurzel genannt. Kann zu einem intensiv aromatischen bernsteinfarbenen ätherischen Öl zerkleinert und destilliert werden, das eine sehr dicke Konsistenz hat. Nardenöl wird als Parfüm, Weihrauch, Beruhigungsmittel und als Kräutermedizin verwendet, um Schlaflosigkeit, Geburtsschwierigkeiten und andere kleinere Beschwerden zu bekämpfen. Das Öl war schon in der Antike bekannt und war Teil der ayurvebischen Kräutertradition Indiens. Es wurde im alten Ägypten, im Nahen Osten und in Rom als Genussmittel gewonnen, wo es der Hauptbestandteil des Parfums Nardinum war. Nard wird im Alten Testament mehrfach erwähnt. Es wurde als eines der elf Kräuter für den Weihrauch im Heiligen Tempel in Jerusalem verwendet. Und es wird im biblischen Liebesgedicht, dem Hohelied Salomos (1:12 & 4:13) erwähnt. Im Neuen Testament (Johannes 12:1-10): Sechs Tage vor dem Passah kommt Jesus in Bethanien an. In Bethanien verwendet Maria, die Schwester des Lazarus, ein Pfund reine Narde, um Jesu Füße zu salben. Er bereite ihn auf seinen Tod vor, sagte er zu den Kritikern des Ereignisses.

„Dann nahm Maria ein Pfund Nardensalbe,
sehr kostspielig, und salbte die Füße von Jesus und wischte seine Füße ab
mit ihrem Haar; und das Haus war erfüllt vom Geruch der Salbe.“
(Johannes 12:3)
