Frankincense: Also called Olibanumis, an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia. Frankincense trees are also consideredunusual for their ability to grow in environments so unforgiving that that sometimes grow directly out of solid rock. The treesstart producing resin when then they are about 8 to 10 years old Olibanum essential oil is obtained bysteam distillation of thedry resin .
Frankincense was lavishly used in religious rites. In the Book Exodus in the Old Testament, it was an ingredient for sacred anointing oil ( Ex 30:34) ; according to the book of Matthew 2:11, gold , frankincense, and myrrh were among the gifts to jesus by the Biblical Magi " from the East".
This Anointing Oil is made in Israel - the Land of the Bible by local perfumers, using natural Galilee and Jerusalem Virgin Olive Oils and scented with flowers and herbs essences mentioned in the Bible and characteristic of the Holy Land.
